Cómo se juega US Chess Championship 2026:

• Time controls:
• 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game. There is a 30-second increment starting on move 1.
• Tiebreaks:
• Most wins
• Most blacks
• Direct encounter
• Sonneborn-Berger
• Tournament Performance Rating
• Bonus prizes:
• In the event of a tie, prizes will be divided equally. $7,000 winner bonus (if no tiebreak needed).
• There will be a “Fischer Bonus Prize” with up to $64,000 available. The player will be awarded the bonus prize consistent with the top consecutive win streak achieved, based on the following consecutive win streaks (eligible only with a consecutive win streak starting at Round 1):
• Five (5) consecutive wins: $1,000
• Six (6) consecutive wins: $2,000
• Seven (7) consecutive wins: $4,000
• Eight (8) consecutive wins: $8,000
• Nine (9) consecutive wins: $16,000
• Ten (10) consecutive wins: $32,000
• Eleven (11) consecutive wins: $64,000
• There will be a "Finish Strong" prize awarded to player(s) with highest score in Rounds 6-11 (split in case of tie)
